Present Day

     Aishwarya is sitting in her café, waiting for Manish to arrive, since he wanted to discuss something important. Manish texted her that he has got stuck in the traffic and will be late by few minutes.

     Manish’s birthday party rekindled the friendship between him and Aishwarya. And following the events of revealing ‘secrets’ of Ranjith, when Aishwarya planned to ruin her husband’s career as a revenge, Manish initially disliked the idea of transforming Ranjith into a female, which he thought as a very harsh decision. However, Aishwarya was stubborn and the interest she showed in her plan started to raise his curiosity levels as well. Starting from the day when Aishwarya narrated the story of her movie to Ranjith, she updated everything to him. In fact, Manish was the one recommended Anitha as a trainer for Ranjith, referring her as a capable person to transform him both physically and mentally.

Few minutes later, Manish came near the table where she was seated, and gently touched her shoulder. “Hey Aishu! Sorry for the delay my dear!” He said and hugged Aishwarya.

Aishwarya was happy to see him. She hugged in return and gestures him to take the seat. Manish began the conversation, enquiring how things are going with Ranjith. “So how’s your plan going on Aishu? I’m very much curious to know about it!”

Aishwarya smiled with a sense of pride. “Everything is going perfectly as per the plan Manish. You know, the delay in shooting helped us further. Let me show you something!” She enthusiastically opened her phone and started to show the pictures and videos that were taken by Anitha, without the knowledge of Ranjith.

“Presenting you the first look of our lady Superstar Madhumita!” Aishwarya announced with a cunning laugh in her face.

     Manish started to scroll the photos and videos of Ranjith, to see his new feminine avatar. He found videos of Ranjith dressed in sarees, walking like a woman by swaying his hips. His feminine face with full make-up and also some pictures where he was cooking food. Seeing those photos brought a big smile to Manish’s face as well.

In a sense of awe, he asked, “What have you done to him Aishwarya? I don’t even believe it is Ranjith! The way he walks like a woman in saree and his face with make-up and cooking. It’s Unbelievable!”.

Aishwarya’s face brightened over his compliments. “Yes Manish! Even it’s surprising for me to see how he accepted all these things. He got really immersed himself into his new role. I’ve initially thought the plan may not succeed. But he has come a long way now! In the beginning, he had some apprehensions about the movie, but now he has fully dedicated himself to his role. Poor guy!”

Aishwarya continued after a pause. “You know something, he has become my full time cook now. I made him guilty of his failures and pushed him to take the responsibility of cooking. I also gave him few compliments, which indeed motivated him. These days, he wakes up early in the morning, dress himself in a saree and starts preparing the food. Even he has started packing lunch boxes for me now.” Aishwarya said with a laugh, pointing the lunch box with her.

She added, “Even when Anitha is not around, he takes care of his dressing and make-up properly. But it’s just the beginning, and he has long way to go!”.

That brought an instant laugh to Manish as well. “No one will believe that a Superstar and a famous icon like Ranjith, is cooking for his wife, that too wearing sarees and behaving like a housewife. It’s crazy! Oh my God!”.

     Slowly, the discussion turned to few other things about Aishwarya’s project and then Manish brought their main point of discussion.

“OK, the main reason I wanted to talk to you is about, the discussion that papa and I had about your comeback into the movie industry. You know more than me, you are papa’s favourite child, and he is very much happy that you are pursuing your passion after a long break.”

Sensing Aishwarya’s question already, he interrupted her saying, “Don’t worry! I haven’t spoken anything about your plan to transform Ranjith. I will never open your (or our!), little secret to anyone, so chill!”. His words brought some relief to Aishwarya.

He continued, “So, we both decided that, regardless of the result of this movie, that you are doing now with Ranjith, I confirm that you will be directing your next movie under our production banner. And most importantly, with ‘Me’ as the lead. And let me make it clear, it has nothing to do with your plan on Ranjith, it’s just for our long-time friendship and our family bonding. I hope you are okay with the proposal”.

     Aishwarya didn’t expect such a surprise from Manish. It took her few seconds to absorb what he just said. And when it did, tears of joy filled in her eyes. She quickly jumped from her seat, screaming like a child, and said excitingly.

“Wow! That’s awesome Manish, incredible! Thank you so much! I don’t even know what to say. Thanks so much to you and uncle for the opportunity!

Manish responded with a genuine smile. “I know you are very talented Aishu, and you deserve it. So all the very best! Next time when we meet, come with an interesting script. And also, whenever you are free, come to home and talk to papa about your salary and other things, okay?”

     Manish left in a short while, giving the wonderful news to Aishwarya. She still couldn’t believe the lifetime opportunity she just got. It is one of the reputed production company, and Manish, who is the next big thing in South Indian cinema. With a mind full of happiness and excitement, she left the café with a renowned determination to bring her ‘A’ game in the movie.

THE SHOOT BEGINS

     Finally, the day that Aishwarya and Ranjith waited has arrived. The news of Aishwarya’s directorial debut, with her husband Ranjith as lead, was all out in media raised the expectations of his fans. Ranjith was very much nervous and uncertain on how his role in this movie will be accepted by the audience, and how he is going to face others while shooting.

     Whenever Ranjith had doubts in his mind, Aishwarya encouraged that, he is doing good and asked him to be confident. She reassured that this movie will be a turning point in his career.

     The good thing that kept Ranjith in relief is that, he doesn’t need to wear sarees or salwars during the initial stages of the shooting, since they will be doing his teenage portions first. So he can dress in his usual male clothes for sometime. Though things just changed in terms of dressing, but Ranjith’s newly acquired skills of swaying his hips, walking like a female, his feminine ways of expression and talking continued. And however Ranjith consciously tried to avoid them, it followed him like his natural behaviour.

     His new mannerisms didn’t go unnoticed by the people in the sets as well. They not only got surprised, but also got shocked to see Ranjith, who was a smart and handsome man, now looked slim like a teenager and behaves like a female. While few praised him for his dedication to his role, it didn’t fail to create laughter for many.

     Days passed and the shooting progressed well as per the plan. And Ranjith started to see the dominant side of Aishwarya very often in the sets. Like a seasoned director, she handled everyone strictly to get the better output from them. She never spared anyone and for that matter, Ranjith as well. Ranjith was usually treated as a Superstar in his previous movies, and no one dared to get retakes from him, unless it was absolutely necessary. Whereas, Aishwarya treated Ranjith as some debut actor from the day one itself in the sets.

     More than often, she made him to do many retakes. Especially when he needs to emote his feelings as a transgender. She didn’t even care about commenting his poor acting skills openly during the shoot. Ranjith on one side, couldn’t tolerate this aggressive behaviour from Aishwarya, but continued to keep his cool as she is his wife and didn’t want to make it as a family affair in front of the others.

     All these embarrassments at the sets didn’t keep him off from his feminine activities like dressing up and make-up and especially cooking at home. In fact, he started to see some calmness and peace in indulging himself in those activities. One evening, he was cooking dinner like a typical housewife, wearing his cotton saree, his hairs tied in a nice hair bun, with a light touch of make-up. Aishwarya was watching the TV, when he brought up the courage to ask her about the way she treats him at the movie sets.

     Had it been the Ranjith of few months back, he would have shown his anger straight away. But all these feminine training and conditioning him to be a soft woman, made him mentally softer than well. Instead of showing anger, he asked Aishwarya in a soft voice.

“Aishwarya, I wanted to ask you something.” He said.

And without turning towards Ranjith, Aishwarya responded. “Yes. Shoot!”

Ranjith continued with a bit of disappointment in his voice. “Aishwarya, I am not pleased at the way you treat me at the sets. I am a superstar, who did more than 25 films. And yet you treat me like some debut actor! You start taking retakes as much as you want, and sometimes you even forget that I’m your husband. It is just projecting me badly in front of the others.” Ranjith opened up his feelings, but at the same time focused on his cooking as well.

Aishwarya came near to Ranjith, with a stern face. “Ranjith, you are badly missing the point here. I am working towards getting the best actor in you and that needs some hard work. I thought you will understand, but you are cribbing here like a drama queen. Grow up Ranjith.” She said.

When Ranjith tried to respond, Aishwarya interrupted. “Now I understand better Ranjith, that why your movies were big flops. You don’t want to put any effort in acting, and don’t want to do retakes. Just want to come to sets and show your stardom. With this type of attitude, you will never win Ranjith.”

Again Ranjith wanted to say something, and she interrupted him. “You better keep your attitude within yourself for the time being. It’s my movie, and I’m the boss here. I’m reminding you again that, it’s your last chance to prove your worth as an actor in the film industry. Just focus on your acting, instead of crying for everything like a serial actress.” She said, and went back to continue watching the TV.

     Ranjith couldn’t believe his wife just dealt him with left hand and dismissed his feelings, that too without even letting him respond. He started to wonder where his marriage life is going and found his feelings are not respected. He wished arguing with her, but later thought it won’t be worth anyway and returned to cooking.

     Ranjith was still in thoughts, but soon he realized what Aishwarya said is true. This movie will be an answer to all the criticism on his acting and he should put in a lot of works to prove himself. He was happy that Aishwarya is bringing the best from him and felt that he is really behaving like a drama queen finding issues over everything.

     Three months passed, and the movie gradually progressed up to the stage where, Ranjith has to portray the scenes of his coming out of closet and identify as transgender and his struggles for good education and finding a job. Slowly, his costumes got shifted to salwar kameez and Kurta and with feminine accessories, which raised a lot of eyebrows in the set. Everyone started talking how Ranjith has transformed himself and has become barely recognizable as a man.

     Ranjith initially tried to behave like a man in the sets, but as time passed, he couldn’t come out of the identity of Madhumita, so overtime he let the character out even while on break.

     One day, as per the script, they were shooting a scene where Madhu, who loves piercings, goes to a shop to get her nose pierced, and how happier she feels after looking at herself in the mirror. Ranjith initially thought it will be just a dummy without the need of an actual piercing, but later found it wasn’t, when Anita brought up the piercing gun and a real nose stud. He checked with Aishwarya, and she confirmed that, for the scene to be realistic, he needs to get the piercing for real.

Ranjith didn’t want to get the piercing, started to show his resistance. “No Aishwarya! I don’t want to get nose piercing for real and that too in front of the others in the sets. It just feels terrible! I’m not up for it.” His words reflected his anger as well.

Aishwarya got annoyed and started to shout at him in front of everyone. “Ranjith, it seems daily you have got something to complain! It’s the script which I wrote, and you need to act. We will be having a close up shot of your piercing which will connect with the audience. And that’s the reason why I turned down Anita’s suggestion to do it along with your ear piercings. I’m here to make a realistic movie and not to change scenes as per your wish. What an actor you are who don’t even want a nose piercing for your movie”.

With the same annoyed face she turned to her cameraman Ravi and said sarcastically, “Hey Ravi! I am fed up with this drama queen yaar! She starts to cry like a serial actress daily, and it’s frustrating”.

Ravi laughed at Aishwarya’s comments, and he turned towards me and said. “Madhu madam, sorry, Ranjith sir. It’s just for acting right? I’m sure it will be a beautiful shot if we have the piercing in real. Please co-operate sir.” His words were both teasing and convincing to me at the same time.

     Without having anything to say, I accepted to get my nose pierced in the sets, that too in front of so many people. I was told that I shouldn’t remove the nose stud for at least few weeks, so there is no option other than to live with that. Like all those changes happened to me, slowly the nose stud has started to be an integral part on me.

     A few weeks later, despite the security in the movie sets and instructions to not leak the movie related information outside, the images of Ranjith wearing salwar kameez with female make-up and also the recent nose piercing scene was out in the social media sparking a lot of debates among Ranjith’s fans and general public.

     Aishwarya has kept Ranjith’s role as a secret so far, but this time, she had to acknowledge in social media that the story is an unconventional one and Ranjith is playing the role of transgender, transforming as a female. She assured that the movie will bring the acting prowess of Ranjith and the movie will be liked by everyone.

     However, the amount of trolls that Ranjith has got for his feminine look didn’t stop in the social media. Though his die hard fans were supporting him for doing an untouched subject few comments from his haters and fans of other stars really started to hurt Ranjith.

There was one post mentioned,

Ranjith, who failed in acting and now trying to save his career by hiding himself in sarees and make-up. What a downgrade 👎 !!.

Another post read,

Ranjith(a) will definitely get an award for best heroine for this movie.

There were posts trolling him to act with other actors as heroine.

Looks like Ranjith is ready for his second innings and seeing how beautiful she is, she can even act as heroine to young actors.

     Ranjith was deeply disappointed with the trolls and shared his feelings with Aishwarya. Aishwarya in a normal situation would have asked him to ignore them and do his job. But this time, she found he was really concerned about the amount of hate and troll he received and even thought of dropping from the project.

     Aishwarya didn’t want to ignore this and allow Ranjith to get more frustrated. She decided to go nice on him with some kind words. She came near to him and held his hands for a talk.

“My dear! Don’t think about all those hate and troll comments. They don’t have anything useful to do. Moreover, they are from fans of your competition actors and not from your fans or public. They don’t know how big an actor you are, if I were in your place, I will have my heads high and put more efforts to succeed my movie and shut up their mouth. I believe in you. Be confident”. She wiped the tears from his eyes and hugged him.

     Ranjith calmed down a bit after hearing kind words from Aishwarya after a long time. He was happy that she is still caring for him and her motivational words made sense to him. He thought for few minutes and with a new sense of confidence he decided to go forward without listening to the online trolls.

GUESTS IN THE HOUSE

     A few days later, Ranjith had a day off, which relieved him a lot. In the evening, he took bath, got dressed in a peach colour floral Kurta, with matching leggings, thinking about what to prepare for dinner, since Aishwarya said she will also come early today. These days, the only way Ranjith could easily impress her was through his cooking. So he thought of preparing something special for dinner.

     He heard the sound of a car parking and wondered if Aishwarya had come so earlier than expected. Aishwarya entered the house with happiness all over her face, followed by Anitha, who also seemed very happy. Seeing her excitement, Ranjith asked her what’s so special about. Aishwarya hugged him and kissed him, much to the surprise of Ranjith, as it was so long that they kissed each other.

Aishwarya sat on the sofa and asked Ranjith to sit near her. Anitha sat to their opposite side. And in a voice filled with excitement, Aishwarya revealed the reason for her happiness. “Ranjith, you know what? Our movie is already a success! The distributors and theatre owners are very much happy with the publicity and hype our movie is getting all over the media. They feel both positive and negative publicity will bring audience to the theatres as everyone will be eager to see you in an unseen avatar”.

She continued after a pause, “Our budget for this movie is around 60 crores, and they are ready to buy the movie for 120 crores, which means a huge profit now itself. And along with that, we will get a share, if the movie collects even more in theatres. Papa called me to inform this, and he is very happy!”

Ranjith also got excited that the movie is doing wonderful Business after his multiple failures in the box office. “Wow! That’s awesome Aishwarya! All the credit should be yours. Without your support and encouragement, I wouldn’t have taken this project.”

“There’s a small catch Ranjith. Papa and the distributors are going to sign the agreement tomorrow. But before that, they wanted to meet you. So, I’ve invited the delegates from producers and distributors council to our house tonight for dinner. They just wanted to talk to you before signing the agreement.”

I responded casually saying, “Hmm! That’s fine. Let me go and change my dress. Are you guys preparing dinner or ordering something from outside?” He was about to get up, but Aishwarya pulled him down to sit again.

And in a soft voice, Aishwarya said, “Ranjith, they want to see you as Madhumita. They were a bit sceptical that, how your performance will be in a feminine role, and I assured that you are fully prepared as a real female. So, before signing the agreement, they want to see how you are preparing for the role. So I want you to get ready as Madhumita and look pretty. I know you can handle yourself, but Anitha will give you some professional touch. As they are very special guests, I have asked Anitha to make you look like a beautiful bride!”

Aishwarya’s request suddenly made Ranjith angry. “Are you out of your mind Aishwarya? You want me to dress like a bride in front of them?? I don’t really get along with these people, after they made some issues out of my previous flops. Now you want me to greet them into our house as a bride. I’m not doing it at any cost Aishwarya.”

Aishwarya retaliated angrily. “You are only out of your mind Ranjith. In next few months, the whole world is going to see you in a feminine look in the big screen. Also, the people in the shooting sets have already seen you in female getup. Now you have problem with dressing in saree just in front of what, 5 to 10 people? I don’t want your stupid ego to come in front of our movie, and it’s Business.”

“Moreover, I have not requested you for a favour. And as an artist, you are bound to support your director in whichever way I ask you to do. Now stop your endless complaining and get ready with Anitha. Don’t worry about cooking and I will arrange it from outside.”

     Whatever little resistance I had, was also broken by Aishwarya. And I had no other option other than to oblige. I also got convinced that the Business of this movie is important than my ego. Thus, I said to myself that I may get humiliated now, but if this movie is successful, everyone will see the old Ranjith again. I walked towards the dressing room with Anitha.

     As I just had my bath, Anitha started to prepare for make-up and dressing. Unlike my 34B breast forms that I was having so far, she stuck breast forms of size 36C which felt very heavy and larger than my previous ones. I asked Anitha to stick with the older ones, but she rejected saying that, it will make me look more beautiful and a treat to their eyes. I have already started to fear what those guests think about me in these large shapely breasts that will be more eye catching.

     Again, she made me wear the padded butt enhancing panties with slightly larger size, which enhanced my hip and butt areas. Then I wore the shapewear petticoat which was hugging my figure but gave a very nice feminine shape to my lower body. I wore the designer blouse that Anitha brought, and it gave a sexy look with my bigger sized breasts.

     Anitha then started with her make-up before draping up the saree. She artistically highlighted my face by making my cheeks looks fluffy, my nose to appear sharp and my eyes were highlighted to look bigger. She was applying the bright red matte lipstick, that made my entire face brighter. Lastly, she braided my long hairs in a traditional South Indian braid with partition in the centre.

     The silk saree is yellow and green colour combination, and she found a large round earring that matched with its colour. At the moment, Aishwarya entered the room to see how things are going on.

She looked at me from top to bottom, and was super impressed with the way I looked with larger curves than she got used to. She noticed my face and the big earrings I wore, and spoke. “Anitha, I think it is the right time to introduce Madhumita to some additional piercings. Just one big earring doesn’t suit the grand silk saree that Madhumita is going to wear. What do you say?” She asked.

Anitha nodded her head in agreement. “You are right Aishwarya. I think we can have another piercing in the ear lobe for now, and then he should wear a large nose stud matching the grandeur of the saree. After all these works to make Madhumita looks realistic, this small nose stud won’t suit her to be honest”.

Aishwarya accepted, “That’s right. Let’s do another piercing in the upper lobe and I will get my diamond nose stud for Madhu in a minute”. She said and left the room and returned with her nose stud.

     Though I didn’t want to get additional piercings, I kept mum as my word will not be going to be considered by Aishwarya. Thus, I let them do want they want. I got frustrated with the way both the ladies just decided what they wanted to do and didn’t even care to ask my opinion.

     Within next few minutes, Anitha did the second ear-piercing in the ear lobe. The small ear-stud that I wore before, was now in the second piercing and I wore Aishwarya’s eight stone diamond nose stud that I gifted her long back. Who would have thought that, I’ll be wearing the same nose stud. However, I was sad because of the piercing, and I didn’t miss to look into the mirror to admire myself with my new piercing.

     The two layers of ear-piercing now gave more shine and grandeur to my ears and same with the nose piercing as well. It made the nose and even my face looks more attractive. Though I was happy with my beautiful look, I still felt concerned how others will feel with all these modifications in my face and body.

     Anitha finally draped the yellow and green ‘Kanchipuram’ silk saree in a very beautiful way, with all the pleats neatly stacked with precision. Even I have started to admire how professionally the saree was draped without any mistakes. Finally, my dressing was complete with a bunch of Jasmine flowers tucked in my hairs.

I really looked like a beautiful bride in a silk saree and while I was admiring my beauty, Anitha teased me by saying, “Madhumita, You look so gorgeous like a girl waiting to get married. Don’t be surprised even if you get one or two proposals today after seeing your beautiful face and body. Be prepared for it!” I didn’t really like Anitha’s teasing comment, but it made me giggle instantly.

     In next few minutes, I heard the cars arrived, and I was just praying the Gods to save me this evening with less humiliation.
