An actor’s career takes a “Tootsie”-like turn when he lets himself be cast as a woman in a movie.

Actor Alexander Honk, played by Matthias Schweighöfer, performs in the local theater as the lead actor of the disguise comedy “Charley’s Aunt”. When looking for a female role for a major Hollywood movie, his brother and manager sees the big opportunity and transforms Alexander into “Alexandra”. “She” participates in the casting and actually gets the role. Quick follows the grave attempts of the director, and Alex doubts if he can convince in the long run in pumps and stuffed bra. And to make matters worse, he also falls madly in love with his film partner, superstar Sarah Voss (Alexandra Maria Lara), who quickly finds in him a new best friend.
The film renamed into ‘Woman In Love’ for the English dubbed version.

Even though ‘Just Charlie‘ is a film on the search of one’s identity, that does not go along with one’s appearance. And it’s a lens on the life of a Trans boy who likes to play football but feels like a girl. But aside from that, from dressing to the smile, the crossdressing part to be precise, the actor Harry Gilby did a praise worthy performance, by portraying a pretty, good looking beautiful girl.
